Mary Harding has run the George Marshall Store Gallery in York, Maine for almost 25 years. This summer she brought together three students of the late DeWitt Hardy—Ken Fellows, Russel Whitten, and myself— for the show “Following DeWitt.” That’s us up above. (For more on how wonderful DeWitt Hardy was as a teacher, read “DeWitt Hardy Taught the Making of Magic,” an article I wrote for 2019’s The Art Guide.) The show ran July 13 – August 18, 2019.
It was Mary’s idea to hang my work unframed, and to set up a little replica of my studio in the gallery. Here’s my daughter Zoe sitting there:
