Almost 600 people came through the Discover Portsmouth Center last Friday evening. Mostly for the opening of my Illustrating Portsmouth show, and also to see Richard Haynes’ excellent paintings upstairs, and his mural and a talk over at the other end of the building at the Seacoast African American Cultural Center.
I was thrilled to see so many people, and was disappointed that I could not get to talk to everyone as much as I would have liked. Thank you all for your praise and comments. The show is up through 9/10. I am giving a gallery talk this Sat the 14th at 11 am. Phillip Augusta, my partner in re:Ports. Magazine back in the 1980s, and I will give a talk on that august journal of the Portsmouth arts scene on Sat the 28th at 1 pm.

Bill,
We live in Hull, MA and sailed up to Portsmouth on vacation last week and one of the most delightful experiences we had during our travels was taking in your Illustrating Portsmouth exhibit. My son Ethan, (he’s 11) thought it was the best. He wants a print of Godzilla if prints ever come available. Your art is exceptional and refreshing! Thank you!
